The Sewing Guild
The Sewing Guild is one of those groups whose work turns up all over the parish once you know to look for it. Costumes for the Christ Church Players. Vestments and altar linens. Items made for the parish’s partnership with St. Joseph’s of Arimathea in Jasmin, Haiti.
What happens there
Fellowship and sewing, in roughly equal measure. The guild keeps a workroom with machines set up and ready, which removes the most common obstacle to sewing anything at all — the twenty minutes of setting up before you can start.
If you cannot sew
Then this is a reasonable place to learn. Guild members teach, and there is always cutting, pressing and pinning that needs doing while you pick it up.
