Yarnbirds
Yarnbirds is a knitting, crochet and needlework group that meets on Tuesday evenings throughout the year — not just during the academic season, which makes it one of the few things at Christ Church that carries straight through the summer.
Every level, genuinely
Some members have been knitting for fifty years. Others arrived with a ball of yarn and no idea what to do with it. The group teaches, and the teaching is a good part of the point.
Where the work goes
Some of it goes home. Some of it becomes gifts. And some feeds the parish’s Prayer Shawl Ministry, where shawls are made, blessed, and given to people in illness, grief, new parenthood, or a hard season — a tangible way for the parish to say it is paying attention.
